Because I like to see how many films I watch a year. I'm also going to keep track of how many pass the Bechdel test. Here are the rules
1. The movie has two or more women (I am going with named women)
2. who talk to each other
3. about something other than a man
Movies with an x next to them fill none of the criteria and ☆ means that it passes. (1) and (2) means it passes the first and second rule respectively. Since a lot of movies only barely pass (like Contagion), the ones that pass these rules and have conversations that last more than 5 minutes will be underlined; only 20% of the movies I saw last January through September (and about half of the films that passed the Bechdel test) passed that last test.
